We’ve given a playful twist to milkshake time with our Cookie Monster Shake. This creamy delight blends smooth vanilla ice cream with crushed chocolate cookies for a crunchy surprise in every sip. A swirl of chocolate sauce gives it that extra indulgent touch, making it a guaranteed winner with kids (and secretly loved by parents too!). Packed with calcium from milk and energy-boosting carbs from the cookies, it’s a fun treat for little ones who need a pick-me-up.

Ingredients

  • 250ml cold whole milk (or dairy-free alternative)

  • 3 scoops vanilla ice cream (dairy or plant-based)

  • 6 chocolate sandwich cookies (plus 1–2 extra for topping)

  • 2 tbsp chocolate sauce (plus extra for drizzling)

  • Whipped cream (optional, for topping)

Directions

  • Place the milk, vanilla ice cream, 5 cookies, and 2 tablespoons of chocolate sauce into a blender.
  • Blend until smooth and creamy.
  • Crush the remaining cookie into chunky pieces and set aside.
  • Drizzle extra chocolate sauce inside two tall glasses, then pour in the milkshake.
  • Top with whipped cream, cookie crumbles, and a final drizzle of chocolate sauce.
  • Serve with a fun straw and enjoy immediately!

Key Notes

  • For fussy drinkers, blend all the cookies completely smooth so there are no “bits” left in the shake.
  • Make it lighter: use frozen banana in place of some ice cream for a healthier twist.
  • Parent hack: add a shot of espresso for a cheeky grown-up version (Cookie Cappuccino Shake!).
  • Best served fresh, but you can prep the cookie crumbles in advance.

Variation Tips

Use Oreos, chocolate chip cookies, or digestivebiscuits for different flavours.

Add a spoonful of peanut butter for a nutty twist.

Make it extra indulgent with a swirl of chocolate or caramel sauce inside the glass.

Swap in plant-based ice cream and cookies for a vegan-friendly version.

Make it a party favourite by serving in mason jars with cookie “garnishes.”

Common Mistakes to Avoid

Can make the shake too thick and gritty—blend a few, save extras for topping.

Without it, it won’t have that fun Cookie Monster look.

Heavy cookies can sink—use whipped cream to anchor them.

Cookies get soggy if left sitting in the shake.

Thins out the shake—add gradually for the perfect creamy texture.
